Church and Cloister of St-André-le-Bas
Church and Cloister of St-André-le-Bas
: Michelin's recommendations
Masterpiece of Romanesque art which formed part of an abbey founded in the 6C, it dates from the 12C and consists of one aisle with a circular cul-de-four apse. Do not miss, the colourful sculptures of fluted pilasters attributed to Guillaume Martin (12C). A touch of serenity is found in the adjoining 12C Cloister. It displays a series of archatures on the arch that rests on small gemeled columns or pillars and an important collection of Christian epitaphs.
