Angles-sur-l'Anglin Interesting : Michelin's recommendations

Thanks to its tradition of embroidery, this village has been featured at grand dinners and in plush cabins on famous ocean liners like the Normandie and the Queen Elizabeth. This fine embroidery work, known as ‘‘jours d’Angles’’, was highly popular in the Belle Époque era; and its outline evokes the impressive ruins of the château that are a backdrop for this attractive village, listed as one of the most beautiful in France. The ruins stand on a rocky peak overlooking the peaceful waters of the Anglin, teeming with reeds and water lilies.
