Angoulême’s Old Town is best explored by walking all the way around it. The North is crisscrossed by narrow streets, whereas the South is broken up by spacious roads lined with aristocratic façades. While strolling through the area, head towards Saint Peter’s Cathedral to admire its Poitevin façade, then stop in at the National Cartoon Centre (Centre national de la bande dessinée et de l'image), and end your walk at the Fine Arts Museum (Musée municipal des Beaux-Arts) to see the African and Oceanic Art collection.
