Chauvigny : Michelin's recommendations

Guarded by birds of prey that circle above the ruins in amazing falconry shows, the austere but awe-inspiring castles in the ‘‘upper town’’ tower over the rest of the city, solidly rooted in its traditional activities. Renowned for its 19C porcelain, the town still contains an ancient family-run factory, and has continued quarrying its famous fine-grained sandstone. The collegiate church is also worth a visit for its historiated capitals.
