This majestic alley of elm trees, which extends past Charruyer Park and ends at the war memorial created by Joaquim Costa, is a favourite walk for the inhabitants of La Rochelle. Orbigny Park and Delmas Park border it on the seaward side.

These low wooden houses, former boat repair workshops, lent their name to the quarter that extends to the West of the large basin. After being destroyed by a fire, it was rebuilt and now houses craftsmen, the University and museums.
