The Aspe Valley is accessible from Oloron (N 134) and stretches all the way to the Col de Somport. This rugged mountain valley personifies the harmony of a well-preserved natural environment, thanks to its forests where the few remaining bears are protected by the Pyrenees National Park, and its simple villages with their characteristic architectural style. The Aspe Valley Eco-museum, divided over four sites (Sarrance, Lourdios-Ichère, Accous and Borce), strives to give visitors a better understanding of this unique valley, its pilgrimage history, traditional and pastoral activities.
