Île d'Oléron Interesting : Michelin's recommendations

Linked to the mainland by a viaduct-bridge, Oléron is Metropolitan France’s second largest island after Corsica. A place of wild beauty, ocean expanse, ever-changing colours, warm sand and… its famous oysters. Its white houses sit among mimosas, laurels, tamarisks and fig trees. At the centre, St-Pierre-d’Oléron comes alive during the holiday season. Elsewhere, Fort Boyard projects a striking if inaccessible silhouette. Views of Oléron and the Antioche rocks from the Chassiron Lighthouse.
