Sited among cedar trees, this magnificent Renaissance castle has since 1933 been known for its successful blending of ancient and contemporary art. Its original owners (the Gouffier family) had a collection of Muses including Diana the Huntress and her nymphs, and a majestic painted gallery, its walls depicting the Trojan War and the Aeneid. In the late 1980s, artists were invited to add to the pre-existing works, in the manner of 16C cabinets of curiosity.
