This former Albret residence was transformed in the 16C by architect Louis de Foix who designed the Cordouan lighthouse. On the main courtyard side is a formal gallery in the Italian style. On the Dordogne side, the pavilion, terraces and monumental staircase leading to the French-style gardens were added in 1695. Inside, note the Louis XIII and Louis XIV furniture, the fireplaces in the Henri IV drawing room and Grand Salon, the 18C brassware in the dining room (14C) and the echoing chapel.
