Brightly coloured oyster-farm huts house exhibitions on the island’s traditional activities: the history of salt in Saintonge, the écluses à poisson (fish retention locks) and oyster farming. A salt works has been conserved around a cabane à Sau (salt hut). Products connected with salt are for sale. Finally, a trip on a small boat to explore the flora and fauna of the marshes.
