Starting from the Albi Tourist Office, follow the circuit Azur (blue loop) to explore the banks of the Tarn River which offer superb views of the city and its old fortifications. On the right bank of the Tarn there are some nicely restored old brick mills which now contain a hotel, other housing and the Lapérouse Museum evoking the expeditions of Admiral Jean-François de Galaup de Lapérouse, a native son from the area around Albi. The mills line Botany-Bay Square, affording a breathtaking view of the Tarn, the Old Bridge and old town.
