A traditional restaurant in the town centre serving timeless, traditional dishes in generous portions. The interior is a vaulted room with exposed brickwork and a very classic style.

      Pros

      Pros

The amuse bouche was very nice and led us to think that we were in for a treat, but that was as good as it got.

      Cons

We arrived at 20.10 and were sat in the first of three vaulted basement rooms. The decor should have been a warning - although you never know in France. Poor lighting gave my partner and I a green tinge. The walls were hung with bad art and the chairs were uncomfortable and worn. Throughout the meal we had to endure the sound of the automatic door into the kitchen and the rugby chants of a six year old boy at the next table. Charming family, but it became wearing. The food was average, cold fish and tough beef, but we would have been reasonably happy had not the service been absolutely awful. Our first course arrived at 21.00 we were very hungry by then and ate quickly. We then sat with empty plates in front of use until 21.30. This went on throughout the meal despite the fact that the waiting staff were going to the kitchen empty handed. By 11.30 we had had enough and left without being served our deserts, we were of course charged for them. When I paid the bill, I complained about the service and the manager gave me a shrug and said, “its Saturday night”. The restaurant was only two thirds full so I cannot imagine how they manage in the tourist season. Don’t go to this restaurant unless you have deep pockets and a lot of time to kill.
