The treasury of Conques Abbey houses a major collection of church plate from the 9C to the 16C, the most comprehensive display in France. It includes a particularly remarkable reliquary statue of St Faith (10C), made of gold and silver-gilt plaiting on a wooden core. It has been adorned with jewels, cameos and antique intaglios. Also look out for the reliquary of Pepin (9C) - gold leaf embossed on a wooden core and inlaid with numerous precious stones. And that is only the beginning.
