Lagrasse : Michelin's recommendations

Sited on the banks of the River Orbieu, the town faces the majestic abbey of Ste Marie d’Orbieu, founded in the 8C and in recent years reinvigorated by the arrival of a new order (the Canons Regular of the Mother of God). This charming medieval town has ancient bridges, the remains of ramparts, and old half-timbered houses such as the 14C maison Maynard. In summer, its cobbled centre comes alive with markets selling crafts and local produce.
