This museum is housed in the caves below the town hall (17C). Its collections from prehistory and archaeological excavations show the evolution of funeral traditions: Gallic incineration wells (1C), Christian sarcophagi, furniture from Merovingian necropolises and a unique set of twenty taurobolic altars, dedicated to Jupiter and Cybel. Polychrome fragments with geometric or floral decoration are exhibited in the mosaics room. A potter’s kiln, ceramics, bronzes and money evoke everyday life in Roman times.
