Grotte de Dargilan Recommended Recommended : Michelin's recommendations

The Dargilan Cave was first explored in earnest in 1888 by E-A Martel and companions. Present-day visitors first enter the Grande Salle du Chaos, where concretions are slowly building up. This is followed by the Salle de la Mosquée, containing a number of pearly-coloured stalagmites and a 20m-high column, the Salle Rose, and the Corridor of Petrified Cascades, in which there is magnificent calcite drapery over 100m long and 40m high. The tour continues through yet more amazing chambers.
