Downstream from Meyrueis, the River Jonte flows through a canyon, its steep limestone flanks hewn by erosion. A bit further along, the canyon becomes narrower and in summer the river disappears among crevasses. Approaching the hamlet of Douzes, the river emerges from its underwater course in a second deep canyon. Before reaching Rozier, where the Tarn and the Jonte join, pause at the belvédère des Vautours (vulture viewpoint): fine view and a chance to see the raptors reintroduced in the 1970s.
