Méjean Plateau
Méjean Plateau
: Michelin's recommendations
France’s highest plateau is known for the harshness of its weather. Limestone and dolomitic rock alternate across the plateau. In its sotchs, red soil contrasts nicely against the meadows and ploughland, punctuated by the odd menhir. Sparsely populated, it is an expanse of emptiness traversed by deep ravines. Here the sheep rule, although around Villaret they jostle for prominence with the extraordinary Przewalski horses!
