This huge square, bordered by the majestic façade of the Capitole, is where the inhabitants of Toulouse like to meet up. A Languedoc cross, drawn in the centre of the square is embellished with the twelve zodiac signs, the work of Raymond Moretti. He is also the author of the paintings under the arcade archways which colourfully recall the events and characters that have made Toulouse famous, including the Vénus of Lespugue, the Airbus and Carlos Gardel.
