Puycelci Interesting : Michelin's recommendations

The old fortified village of Puycelci stands on a rocky plateau, dominating the Vère Valley. Its name comes from the Latin podium celsum, meaning "flat, raised hillock". Part of its ramparts and two 14C and 15C towers remain from its fortified past. A wall-walk gives a vast panoramic view as far as the summits of the Pyrenees. Buildings of particular interest in the village include the Château du Petit St Roch, the Maison Feral (15 and 16C) and Église Ste Corneille, with its wonderful Gothic nave and 18C belltower.
