Arromanches-les-Bains : Michelin's recommendations

Its beach still strewn with ghostly concrete caissons, Arromanches-les-Bains is a reminder of the Allies’ technical prowess on 6 June 1944: within a few days they had built an artificial harbour to facilitate the landing of the invasion forces. No D-Day discovery trip is complete without a visit here (Arromanches was the site of the official 60th anniversary commemorations), and it also remains a pleasant seaside resort.
