The coast road along the Côte Fleurie is dotted with seaside resorts, beginning with Deauville, which owes its reputation to its luxurious hotels and facilities and elegant events (racing, sailing and tournaments). The town stretches out along a 2km-long beach as far as Mont Canisy, the highest point on the coast. Next comes Villers-sur-Mer and its wooded hinterland and long beach, which extends as far as the Vaches Noires cliff. Houlgate, for its part, offers a wonderful chance to admire the architecture typical of 19C holiday homes.
