A maritime and an art museum, it has a notable collection of Dieppe ivory carved with minute detail by the ivory carvers who set up their workshops in Dieppe to take advantage of the elephant tusks arriving from Africa or Asia. A special display is devoted to the best known of these craftsmen, Pierre-Adrien Graillon (1807-1872). There are some interesting paintings of Dieppe by Isabey, Boudin, Pissaro and Sisley, a modern collection of works by Dufy and Lurçat and engravings by Braque.
