The serene beauty of this famous site is best appreciated when the sun is out. From the calvary, you can enjoy breathtaking panoramic views over the Seine Estuary, Le Havre harbour and, to the right, over the Pont de Normandie, with the Pont de Tancarville suspension bridge visible in the background. At the centre of the esplanade stands a small chapel dedicated to Notre-Dame-de-Grâce (17C). The chapel in the transept, to the left, is dedicated to Canadians originally from Normandy, in memory of the many settlers who set off for Canada from this point on the coast.
