Despite being severely damaged, Bec-Hellouin Abbey is still living proof of its importance as a cultural and religious centre during the Middle Ages. Bec-Hellouin is also a typically Norman village hidden deep in a valley. All the regional clichés are here - wood-sided houses, strips of bocage, streams, prairies and fat cows grazing in the shade of apple trees.
