Saint-Lô : Michelin's recommendations
On 19 July 1944, Saint-Lô was wiped off the map: devastation and the ruined steeples of the collegiate church were a heavy price to pay for the liberation of France. Saint-Lô has been valiantly reconstructed; a new city was born, making the most of the schist spur on which it sits which renders the site so unique. Nowadays, Saint-Lô is the administrative centre of the Manche region.
