Trouville-sur-Mer Travel guide
Trouville-sur-Mer : Michelin's recommendations
Trouville made the Fleurie coast known and popularised sea bathing during the reign of Napoleon III. Overhanging the cliffs, you will find some of the most sumptuous Normandy villas built for the upper crust of the time. Boudin, Corot, Cournet, Monet, Pissarro amongst others, have immortalised this great sandy beach where the young Flaubert met the love of his life. Although Trouville has remained fashionable due to its "boardwalk" and its Casino, it still is a bustling and lively fishing port.
