Built in 1494 on the site of an ancient fortress, this Flamboyant Gothic château dominates the valley. An elegant tower staircase of nine bays heralds the “dawn of the Norman Renaissance”. In the restored chapel are interesting 16C wall paintings and fine woodwork. Some rooms are furnished and remain in everyday use, others host exhibitions and chamber music concerts. Views from the terrace over the Saint-Maurice-d’Ételan and Norville marshes, and the forest of Brotonne.
