Surrounded by trees and moats, the castle's timber-framed buildings were restored in 1972. They make for a very picturesque scene, in keeping with the medieval logic of a farm and feudal motte surrounded by moats filled with water. The dovecote (15C) with its 1 500 putlogs is a magnificent example of the traditional architecture of the Pays d'Auge. After visiting the chapel (12C), which holds temporary exhibitions, head to the manor house (15C), protected by surrounding walls, and the orchard planted with 26 local varieties of apple trees.
