These water gardens at the Château de Vendeuvre are home to some fine species of trees and a number of imaginative constructions, including the Crystal Tree, Cléance's Bedroom, the Spring of the Muses, and an ice-house. The fountains are a tribute to the whims of the 18C. With their relaxed atmosphere and the attractive layout of its ponds and box hedges, the gardens are a delightful place for a stroll. The Shell Grotto, made up of over 200 000 shells, is not to be missed.
