Pastures dotted with thatched cottages and half-timbered manor houses, willow and apples trees, a patchwork of quickset hedges crisscrossed with winding roads - including the cider route: the Pays d’Auge makes for an admirable contrast with the beaches of the Côte Fleurie. With its rural apperance and renowned local produce, this hinterland remains one of the symbols of Normandy par excellence. It is worth visiting the beautiful Château de Crèvecoeur-en-Auge to see its timber-framed architecture, so typical of the Pays d'Auge.
