Cliffs that are among the tallest in Europe alternate with little sandy beaches and charming ports. The different elements are bound together by a strip of green that is well-known to hikers: the Sentier des Douaniers. This "land's end" with its jagged coastline forms the northwestern extremity of the Cotentin Peninsula and is worth seeing for its spectacular landscape, as at the Nez de Jobourg and Écalgrain Bay, as well as for the beauty of its tropical-style gardens (Vauville). Its name is, however, commonly associated with its nuclear reprocessing plant!
