Carrière Wellington Interesting : Michelin's recommendations

Destroyed by German bombs as early as 1914, Arras then fell under the command of the British Expeditionary Forces. In 1916 preparations began to link up the Arras quarries where a 24,000-strong army would be stationed before launching a surprise offensive against the German positions; the work involved creating some 19km of underground galleries. Videos, photos, letters, wall engravings and objects depict this epic adventure, in addition to a 20km-guided underground tour through the network dug by New Zealand miners during World War I.
