Childhood home of Robespierre : Michelin's recommendations

Bibendum
Maximilian de Robespierre (1758-1794) was born into a family of small nobility in Arras. A lawyer and judge at the episcopal court, and an avid reader of Jean-Jacques Rousseau, he was elected in 1789 as representative of the Tiers État de l'Artois at the Estates General. Today his house is given over to the Musée du Compagnonnage, a museum showing the masterpieces (carpentry, cabinetmaking etc) of the Compagnons du Tour de France.
