The external port is protected by two sea walls (one 3,250 metres long). There is a travel and leisure port with a tidal basin and the Napoléon and Loubet basins are used by the larger fishing boats. The Gare Maritime and Quai Gambetta are very busy when the trawlermen unload their fish, some of which is sold at the port.
