Cassel : Michelin's recommendations

This small town has a charming atmosphere, with its narrow winding streets, low whitewashed houses and cobblestoned Grand’Place. Around 20 windmills once turned on Mont Cassel; today one remains, producing flour and flaxseed oil. According to a local saying, “you can see five kingdoms from Cassel: France, Belgium, the Netherlands, England, and, above the clouds, the kingdom of God.” Don’t miss the views from the park esplanade and enjoy the atmosphere of a typical Flemish estaminet (tavern).
