St John's Gate (Porte St-Jean, 14C) gives access to the remnants of this old military city, which was knocked down leaving only the bases of the walls. It is now an attractive walk providing pleasant views over the town, the Marne Valley and the Cote 204 Monument. Within the walls, on a green esplanade, the maison Gondobald is a reconstruction of a castle residence of the year 1 000. The "Virges Armes" association presents craft activities, such as a weaving workshop, forge and Medieval garden, to illustrate what daily life was like in a castle.
