A 17C brick and stone building. It belonged to the Ladies of Maubeuge, aged canonesses who succeeded the nuns of St-Aldegonde, the founder of Malbodium (later to become Mauberge) in the 7C.
The college was built in the 17C, to plans by Brother Du Blocq, a Jesuit from Mons who also designed the Jesuits' chapel in Saint-Omer.

Laid out in the glacis dominating the ditches of the fortifications, the zoo contains around 500 animals. The domestic animals roaming free in the zoo farm enchant children and adults alike.
