Meaux
: Michelin's recommendations
An agricultural market centre amid the Multien wheat plains and green countryside of the Brie region, between two small rivers known as the «Morins», the city was part of the lands owned by the Counts of Champagne. It has many historic connections with the great preacher, Jacques Bénigne Bossuet (1627-1704), famous for his funeral orations and the city's bishop from 1682 to 1704.
