Corbeil-Essonnes : Michelin's recommendations

Corbeil has played host or enemy to many different people. The Normans jumped at the chance of laying into the town, Abélard taught philosohy there, Saint Louis once lived there, and Henri IV seized the town in the 1590...in the early 19C, industrialisation began and had its full impact when Oberkampf, the famous manufacturer from Jouy-en-Josas, set up his spinning mills. Today the town flouts the Seine and is a large residential town in the South of Paris.
