Château d'Écouen
Château d'Écouen : Michelin's recommendations
The castle stands in a vast 17ha estate not far from Montmorency. It was built in the 16C for the constable Anne de Montmorency and given to the Condés in the first half of the 17C, before being confiscated during the Revolution. This showpiece of French Renaissance architecture became the property of the Ministry of Culture in 1962 and, soon after, the National Renaissance Museum was set up here.
