The planners of the new town wanted it to have open spaces, hence Évry's numerous parks: the Courcouronnes Lake with its monumental sculpture of the Lady of the Lake by Szekely, which is also used by novice rock climbers, and a water theatre, seating 5 000 people. A footbridge in the Bords de Seine Park leads to Soisy-sur-Seine and Sénart Forest. Saint-Eutrope Park and Garenne Park have play areas and mountain bike trails.
