The tour of the Château de Fontainebleau's Grand Apartments takes in the superb Galerie François I. Built between 1528 and 1530, the gallery is decorated with frescoes and stuccoes by Rosso. The king's emblem, the salamander, is omnipresent. The tour continues up the King's Staircase, which was built in 1749 under Louis XV and depicts the story of Alexander the Great. You will also see the lavish Ballroom (30m by 10m), before finally reaching the apartments themselves, which were built around 1565.
