After the school in the new town of Montereau-Surville, head to the edge of the wooded hill and the two panoramic view points, vestiges of terracing of the now demolished Château Surville. The view takes in Montereau, the bridges and the collegiate church. Where the rivers meet, a copse hides the equestrian statue of Napoleon. On the second viewpoint a flagstone recall the emperor’s famous words: “the bullet to kill me has yet to be cast”.
