: Michelin's recommendations
The Château de Malmaison, the sumptuous home of Empress Josephine, was sold in 1828 and went from hand to hand. Bequeathed to the State in 1904, it was turned into this museum in 1906 thanks to the generosity of donors and patrons enamoured with the legend of Napoleon. Beautifully presented pieces, furniture, painted portraits, cameos, Sèvres and Paris china services, and clothes are reminders of the château's glorious past.
