As at the time of the Sun King, visitors can come and admire water gushing out of the water features and fountains in the groves and garden at the chateau of Versailles. Spraying, lapping, gurgling and cascading water, and Baroque music set off Le Nôtre's work in this enchanting walk-cum-show.

Les Grandes Eaux Musicales
(The Fountains Play to Music)
Every Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holiday (except 1st May)
From 4th April to 25th October, from 9am to 5.30pm.
Fountains play from 11am to 12 noon and from 3.30 to 5.30pm.
New in 2009, every Tuesday between May 12 and June 23, from 9 am to 5.30 pm. Fountains playfrom 11 am to 12 noon and from 2:30 pm to 4 pm. 
€8 (full rate) and €6 (reduced rate); free for under 10 years old. 
There are admission fees for the gardens from 9am to 5.30pm
 
Les Grandes Eaux Nocturnes
(The Fountains Play by Night)
Saturday 20th and 27th June, Saturday 4th, 11th, 18th, 25th July. Saturday 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd August 2009 from 9pm to 11.30pm.
 €20 (full rate) and €16 (reduced rate); free for under 6 years old.
