Nearby the Chateau of Louis XIV, the Saint-Louis quarter is also well worth a visit. Discover it in pictures.

The particularly well preserved Saint-Louis quarter with Old Versailles at its heart, forms one of France’s most beautiful 18th century urban districts. It holds some nice surprises, especially the St. Louis Cathedral, built by Jacques Hardouin Mansart, the grand-son of the architect to Louis XIV. Next to it, just behind the King’s vegetable garden (Potager du roi), is the parc Balbi, featuring a beautiful English garden. Also the rue de Satory is typical of the city’s architecture and on fine days has numerous outdoor cafes and restaurants to sample.
