Grounds of the Palace of Versailles Highly Recommended Highly Recommended Highly Recommended : Michelin's recommendations

Starting at the terrace of the Château de Versailles, you can explore the grounds on foot, by horse-drawn carriage or in a small boat on the Grand Canal. The rectilinear Axe du Soleil, with its water parterre, fountains, statues (such as the Diane Goddess of Hunting by Desjardins), the Bassin de Latone (pond) and the Tapis Vert divide the grounds. On both sides, the copses bring a touch of magic: ponds, colonnades, fountains, sculptured groups, flowerbeds and pathways lined by canals. Enough to spend a whole day! Don’t miss the Grandes Eaux show.
