Louis XV was a great lover of botany, thus the reason for this park and château remodelled by Marie-Antoinette. From a formal garden perspective, the château, built by Gabriel is a Louis XVI style work of art. However, what makes the Petit Trianon famous are the Anglo-Chinese gardens with its "lakes" and "rivers", its detached houses, and the Queen's hamlet which is made up of some ten charming cottages.
