Opened in 1934, Vincennes Zoo is taking on a new lease of life thanks to a major overhaul begun in 2008 and due to finish in 2012. 16 000 m² of new buildings are going up, 9 000 m² of buildings are being restored, 13 000 m² of buildings are coming down, 2 000 trees are being planted and 21 000 m² of enclosures and aviaries are being built… The zoo will be landscaped and divided into six “biozones”.
